How to use the floor plan export

This 2D floor planner helps homeowners and renters draw room layouts with walls, doors, windows and furniture. It starts with an empty canvas and the wall tool active. This version does not provide controls to export SVG, PDF or DXF files.

  1. Start with the wall tool active and draw the room boundaries on the canvas.
  2. Choose the Select, Door, Window or Measure tool from the toolbar as needed.
  3. Open Furniture to browse the available catalog items and place them in the plan.
  4. Use Inspect to review the current plan or a selected item.
  5. Open My plans, Trace image or the toolbar template menu when you need those available plan tools.
  6. Use F to fit the plan, R to rotate, Delete to remove an item, and Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Shift+Z to undo or redo.

Example: Drafting a simple room layout

A renter opens the planner and sees an empty canvas with the wall tool active. They draw the room boundary, switch to Door and Window to place openings, then open Furniture to add items. They use Measure to check the layout and Inspect to review it. The plan remains an editable 2D canvas; no SVG, PDF or DXF file is created because this version has no export control.

How the floor planner works

The planner uses a 2D canvas with a toolbar and a tabbed side panel. This floor-plan page starts with an empty plan, walls unlocked, and the wall tool active. The toolbar can offer templates from the General, House, Apartment, Tiny and Room groups. The editor supports wall, select, door, window and measure modes, along with snapping while drawing; hold Shift while drawing to disable snapping. Keyboard shortcuts include V for select, W for walls, D for door, N for window, M for measure, H or Space-drag to pan, F to fit, R to rotate, Delete to remove, and Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Shift+Z for undo and redo. The available interface does not define an SVG, PDF or DXF export process or a calculation formula.

Reading the results

Your result is the editable 2D plan shown on the canvas. Use the side panels to inspect the plan, add furniture, access plan controls or work with the trace-image panel. The planner does not produce a downloadable SVG, PDF or DXF result.

Limitations and common mistakes

  • This version has no SVG, PDF or DXF export control, so it cannot create those files.
  • The page starts with an empty plan rather than a preloaded room layout.
  • The available planner entry does not show a numeric room-size form or unit selector.
  • The tool is a 2D planner and does not provide a 3D room view.
