How to use the room dimension editor

  1. Draw the room walls on the canvas.
  2. Open Inspect to review the selected wall or room details.
  3. Use Furniture to add items to the plan when needed.
  4. Use My plans to access plan options.
  5. Choose Trace image to work from a reference image.
  6. Use zoom, pan, and Fit to review the layout at different scales.

How the editor works

The editor keeps the canvas and side panel in one shared plan state. Drawing or selecting items updates the plan view, while Inspect shows details for the current selection. The editor starts with an empty plan unless a starting plan is supplied. The default mode for this tool is wall drawing. Use the toolbar and side tabs to change tasks, and use the listed shortcuts for selection, walls, doors, windows, measuring, panning, zooming, rotating, deleting, undo, and redo.

Reading the results

The canvas shows the current 2D floor plan. Use Inspect to review selected plan items, and use the other tabs to add furniture, manage plans, or trace an image. Zoom and pan help you examine the layout; Fit returns the view to a plan-focused view.

Limitations and common mistakes

  • This tool opens with an empty plan, so you must draw the room or load a plan yourself.
  • It is a 2D editor and does not provide a material estimate, construction estimate, or finished 3D visualization in the shown interface.
  • A wall, door, or window must be selected before its details can be reviewed in Inspect.
  • On smaller screens, the canvas and side panel stack vertically, so you may need to scroll between them.
