Example: Organizing a living room shortlist
A renter adds a photo of an oak sideboard, enters “Oak sideboard” as the Title, pastes its source link, types “$1,290” under Price, and enters “160 × 45 × 75 cm” under Dimensions. They choose “Living room,” add the tags “oak, storage, under 1500,” and write a note about checking wall clearance. After saving, the idea appears in the Living room group and can be found through its tags.
How the board works
The tool creates a furniture idea record with the title, source link, free-text price, dimensions, notes, tags and room. Tags are split at commas, converted to lowercase, trimmed, deduplicated and capped at 30; each saved tag is capped at 40 characters. Titles, links, prices, dimensions, room names and notes are trimmed or capped at their field limits. Source links are checked as web addresses and kept as links only. Photos are stored locally as browser assets. Ideas can be filtered by one tag, grouped alphabetically by room, printed, or exported as JSON. Exports can include the stored images when the image option is enabled.
Reading the results
Your saved ideas appear in the board. Use the tag filter to show matching ideas, or turn room grouping on to organize them into sections such as Bedroom or Living room. Printable view shows the room, photo when available, title, price, dimensions, source link, notes and tags. Export creates a JSON file that can preserve the ideas and, when selected, their images.
Limitations and common mistakes
- The board is stored in this browser only. Clearing browser storage or using a different browser or device may remove or hide the saved board.
- The tool does not fetch, scrape or verify source pages, prices, dimensions or product availability.
- Price and dimensions are free-text fields. The tool does not calculate totals, convert units or compare furniture sizes.
- Only one photo can be added to an idea. The board accepts up to 2,000 imported or saved ideas in the import operation.
