How to use the aI living room redesign
Upload a living room photo to explore new furniture, finishes, lighting, and color direction. Choose a preset style, keep the room layout, or generate several AI concepts to compare.
- Upload a clear photo of your living room.
- Keep the Room set to Living room for this tool.
- Choose a style such as Scandinavian, Modern, Japandi, or Coastal.
- Select Full redesign, Style change, or Variations.
- Add optional instructions, then generate the conceptual visualization.
What to enter
- Photo
- Upload the living room image you want to redesign. The tool works from your photo, so include the walls, windows, floor, and existing furniture you want the AI to see.
- What should the AI do?
- Choose Full redesign for a broader restyle, Style change to keep the furniture arrangement, or Variations to generate several takes on the same room and style.
- Room
- This page is set to Living room and the room picker is locked to that room.
- Style
- The default is Scandinavian. Other available presets include Modern, Japandi, Industrial, Boho, Farmhouse, Mid-century, Coastal, Minimalist, and Luxury.
- Prompt
- Add specific instructions of up to 400 characters, such as a preferred color, material, or piece of furniture. This field is optional.
- Count
- For Variations, choose 2 to 4 outputs. The default is 3.
Example: compare Scandinavian living room concepts
Upload a photo showing the sofa, windows, walls, and floor. Leave Room set to Living room, keep Style set to its default Scandinavian preset, and choose Variations with Count set to 3. Add a prompt such as “Use a darker sofa and more floor space.” The tool generates three conceptual takes with the same room layout.
How the AI redesign works
The tool combines your room photo with the selected style preset and optional prompt. Each preset adds descriptions of materials, furniture, light, and composition, plus terms to avoid. Full redesign keeps the layout, windows, and doors by default. Style change keeps the furniture arrangement and room layout. Variations use the same room layout and create 2 to 4 outputs with different generated seeds. The results use structure guidance to help preserve perspective, but the AI can still change proportions or invent details.
Reading the results
Review the generated image or images as mood and direction for your living room. Compare Variations to identify a useful color, furniture, lighting, or material direction. Treat every result as a conceptual visualization, not a measured plan. The tool does not provide dimensions, structural information, or permit drawings.
Limitations and common mistakes
- AI images can change proportions, invent details, or misplace windows and doors.
- The results are not suitable for measurements, construction, structural decisions, or permits.
- A clear photo with the room visible gives the AI more context than a tightly cropped or obstructed image.
- Image generation may be unavailable if the image service is not enabled. Payment or a daily image limit may also apply, depending on the current task settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep my living room layout?
Yes. Full redesign is sent with the option to keep the same room layout, windows, and doors. Style change also asks the AI to keep the same furniture arrangement and room layout.
What living room styles can I choose?
You can choose Modern, Scandinavian, Japandi, Industrial, Boho, Farmhouse, Mid-century, Coastal, Minimalist, or Luxury. The default style on this page is Scandinavian.
How many living room variations can I generate?
The Variations task supports 2 to 4 outputs, with 3 as the default.
Do I need an empty room photo?
No. This page can redesign a furnished living room photo. The Full redesign and Style change options work from the room and furniture shown in your image.
Is the AI living room redesign a construction plan?
No. It is a conceptual visualization. AI results may alter proportions or openings, so do not use them for measurements, structure, or permits.
